Announcing Community Rulesets

While the team is heads down jamming on September’s big update, we did want to bring back a popular community initiative – the vote!

Just as you all voted for Kyrie Irving to be the 33rd player in the game, and how many of you who were with us early on voted for Lin Park in Chicago to be our 7th court, we’re going to be rolling out new ways for the community to put their stamp on NBA THE RUN.

Introducing: Community Rulesets. That’s right, we want to hear your best ideas for a new ruleset to throw into the mix. We know you have them, we’ve been seeing them over the last two months. Share your ideas and we’ll post them in the #community-vote channel early next week to be added in a future update.

Games should be no more than 5 minutes, either by clock or by win condition. And we’ll only be looking at rulesets that can fall within the parameters we have in place:

  • Victory Score
  • Point values for Alley Oops, Dunks, Close Shots, Far Shots, and Blocks
  • Win By Margain
  • Game Clock
  • Shot Clock and Throw in Timer
  • In The Zone Bonus Points
  • Special Rules (No Energy Drain, In The Zone Off, In the Zone Boost)
  • Rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Limited)

These are the current knobs we have at our control but if you have an idea that introduces a new wrinkle we’d still love to hear it, it just may take longer to implement.

We will read through the best and put them up for a vote. The winner’s ruleset will go into the game as soon as we can create it, test it, and get it into the game.

We can’t wait to see what you can cook up and thanks for your continued support.
